Volunteer Volunteer case studies Janet's Volunteer Case Study I have volunteer for HOPE’s clothing shop ‘Essential Designs’ for over 4 years now. I volunteer for HOPE as they provide sheltered housing for those who are homeless and in great need. They don’t just provide a bed for the night, but they also provide individuals with a support care package, working with service users to enable them to get a home of their own. There is a lovely atmosphere at HOPE, and I thoroughly enjoy coming in to help out. I have built great friendships, not only with my fellow colleagues, but also with the general public. Customer service is one of my favourite aspects, as it allows me to really help shoppers find what they are looking for. Some of my roles within Essential Designs includes; steaming clothing, tagging clothing, assisting customers and working on the till. I personally chose HOPE to volunteer as it is close to my heart. I currently work for 3rd world countries, those who are also in need. I volunteer my time to help assist with clothing. I found that HOPE fits this category within the UK. HOPE provides other basic needs as well as housing such as; food, clothing, laundry facilities and training/courses. In the past I was a customer of HOPE’s for almost 19 years, buying clothing from their retail clothing shops. I have also donated items to HOPE’s homeless hostel, including items such as; carpets, coats, food and gloves.
