Development
HOPE will continue to take an active role in local community
affairs advocating for the service user group, taking part in
local strategy partnerships and campaigning for improved service
provision.

Bassetlaw Crisis Centre
HOPE is looking at establishing a new project in the centre of
Worksop called the ‘Bassetlaw Crisis Centre’ which will offer practical
assistance in the form of emergency essentials. Its purpose will be to
provide emergency basics to people who are facing adversity or whose
homes or possessions have been destroyed by a disaster.
The project will be open to any member of the public who is facing a
crisis. Families/individuals seeking help may be employed or unemployed,
but due to a crisis are in a situation where their budgets may not be
able to stretch to cover emergency expenses. An emergency like a flood,
fire or a major family crisis may throw a family into chaos. For these
families, a boost of a bag or two of groceries or essential household
items will make a big difference.
The emergency essentials service at present ran by HOPE are incorporated
into two projects already delivered by HOPE, these being the furniture
project and the resettlement project. This will change, as the project
will have an independent identity.
