HOPE’s Advice Service passes with flying colours with AQS

HOPE’s Advice Service passes with flying colours with AQS

Staff at HOPE Community Services are celebrating today after successfully passing the Advice Quality Standard (AQS), a nationally recognised quality mark for organisations providing free, independent advice to members of the public.

Alan Diggles, Chief Executive said ‘We are so pleased to have again been awarded the AQS as it shows the people of Nottinghamshire using our services, as well as those funding our service, that we are working to the best possible professional standards.  Our team of staff and volunteers have worked very hard to achieve the AQS and the Board will be making sure that they maintain these high standards for the future.’

The AQS is awarded by the national umbrella group, the Advice Services Alliance.  The ASA Director Lindsey Poole said: ‘The AQS is a tough benchmark to achieve, particularly in challenging times for the voluntary sector and we are delighted to confirm that HOPE so clearly makes the grade.’

The Advice Quality Standard (AQS) is the most widely-held and recognised quality assurance standard for the social welfare legal advice sector, with over 330 individual organisations and 340 networked organisations proudly displaying the AQS logo. Such organisations include all Citizen’s Advice Bureaus, many independent local advice centres, local AgeUK’s, as well as many local authority and housing association welfare rights teams.
