Hope’s New Move-On Accommodation Campaign

Today Hope Community Services has launched a campaign in order to raise vital funds for their new move-on accommodation project.

Hope Community Services is wanting to renovate an Edwardian building, into a 6 bedroom, shared accommodation. The accommodation will be for those who are ready to take the next step, and move on from our Emergency Accommodation Hostel. The property is currently in a poor state of repair and therefore needs considerable physical improvements, internally and externally, to become fit for purpose. The building has some real strengths; it is relatively large and so lends itself to such as development. It is structurally sound and has a good layout for separation to be easily achieved. It is our intention to utilise the refurbishment as a training and educational vehicle, that will allow service users the chance to get involved in the physical aspects of the project – to get hands-on during the refurbishment. This will not only provide empathy and understanding of the project, and a real sense of ownership, it will offer a chance of meaningful work experience in a controlled environment.
